Giving Back to Golden: My Collaboration with the Golden Family Center

Giving Back to Golden: My Collaboration with the Golden Family Center

Golden, BC, is more than just a place to live—it’s a community, a home, and a family. I’ve been lucky to build my life and business here, surrounded by people who care about one another and support each other in times of need. That’s why I believe in giving back in ways that make a difference.

This week, I had the opportunity to make a legacy donation of $2,500 to the Golden Family Center, directly contributing to the much-needed infrastructure improvements that will support its mission for years to come. For over 30 years, the Golden Family Center has been a trusted resource, providing critical support, counseling, and healing services to individuals and families in our community. However, their facilities are no longer adequate for the growing needs of the people they serve.

Why This Donation Matters

While mental health services are vital, the environment in which they are provided is just as important. The Golden Family Center’s current infrastructure is outdated, limiting their ability to offer privacy, accessibility, and a truly welcoming space for those in need. The organization has been working hard to secure the funding required to upgrade its facilities, and I am honoured to be able to contribute to this meaningful cause.

Some of the critical areas that need improvement include:

  • Outdated Facilities: The existing spaces were designed decades ago and are no longer sufficient to meet the demands of vulnerable populations.
  • Privacy and Safety Concerns: Protecting client information is paramount, and the center needs to upgrade its infrastructure to ensure the necessary privacy and security measures are in place.
  • A More Accessible Space: The new facility must be designed to accommodate all individuals, ensuring that mental health services are truly accessible to everyone in our community.

The Golden & District Community Foundation has generously supported this project, investing in these much-needed infrastructure costs. However, there is still much work to be done. This is why I chose to donate—because I believe that strong communities are built when we invest in the people and places that support us.

A Commitment to Golden’s Future

As a REALTOR® in Golden, BC, my work isn’t just about helping people buy and sell homes—it’s about helping people find home in a place they love. Part of that means making sure our community has the resources it needs to thrive.

That’s why I’m committed to giving back a portion of every home sold to support local initiatives like this. Thank you, Golden, for being the incredible place that it is. I am so proud to call this town home, and I look forward to continuing to find ways to give back.
